ex bt interior lights

Postby david_1 » Mon Dec 07, 2009 10:53 am

the van has two lights in back of van and two lights in front, one of the front lights works like a normal light with a three positions, on off on when door opens

the other should drive rear lights in same way but they stay on. or do now I know for a fact they were going on and off last week but now seem to have stopped.
Last night at about 10 pm I was out there slamming the doors trying to find a stuck switch or something...

so.. anyone have any little gems on how these lights can be fixed or even tested ???

David ( in the Dark ) :-(

Thanks.... i rather liked having a thread all to my self :-)

it seems the van has a life of its own but there is a timer on the lights some times they wont go off untill the relay clicks off other times they do... might even be something to do with night and day...

new question about the BT night heater...

it works fine so well in fact the van gets hot.. so hot the vans fan comes on even if the keys are not in the ignition is this normal ???

let me explain a little.. van is now insulated with foam.. I took it to the top of devils dike above brighton weather outside blowing a gale, I wanted to see how well the espasher heater worked so I just turned it on and waited with thermometer thingy inside and out outside was about 7degs inside was anywhere from 18 to 25 depending on where how high I put the thermometer.. so sitting there drinking coffee imagine our supprise when the vans internal heater fan came on all on its own... we came to the conclusion that it was to stop the dash melting in hot countries or have I still got a van with a mind of its own...

David slighty confused :-)

Yup it does that :) when the coolant gets hot enough it turns the van fan on to defrost it etc

Correct - its getting power through the eberspacher. There is a swiching relay under the dash.

Trust me its normal on the ex BT with eberspachers

Turn the fan switch to off, if its getting too warm you can alter the temp via the cab heater controls,

As matt said its for deicing, normal procedure is, face vents shut, heater set to hot, fan on pos 1

when coolant is to 80* it turns the blowers on

coollant is not heated the espasher is not connected to the engine it just heats the cab via its own air blower...
the van fan is turned off... it comes on all on its own.. well it did I am not so sure it could raise the temp enough in this very cold spell now.. but\\\
