Does just fitting a intercooler to a turbo diesel really make that much difference? If so what like, more power, better on fuel if so how much?
Could anyone please post up a photo of a standard intercooler fitted to a Mk 5?
Thanks for any answers, Jim :D

In lamens terms It cools down the intake air which in turn let's more fuel in so increases performance. You will in turn use slightly more fuel on full throttle but general running you shouldn't notice any difference in economy

When the turbo compresses the air it heats it and so expands the air the charge cooler cools it making it smaller again so more o2 in the same amount you get a better burn and use less fule Don't think you will notice it though on a little engine

Escort RS turbo intercooler is the same but if you are fitting it to a mk5 proper turbo diesel it will bring the engine light on. unless its had a bosch manual conversion.
