front discs and calipers onto mk1

can anybody tell me have i got to change the front axle to do this conversion??? i want to fit discs to my mk1 twin wheel ,and get rid of the drum brakes! some people say that the hubs will change over without changeing the front axle ! anybody done this conversion??????

Mark, its easier to change the axle as to fit discs you will need to remove the kingpins to remove the stub axles as there is no-where to mount the calipers

The front axle swap is no biggie, we did it on our past Mk1.

hi mark what years your van ford started fitting discs in 73 could it be older than you think i was going to change my axle but refurbed drums n shoes and it stopped as good as new solid neil
