and a back axle that only does 75 mph ( except lutons )

i feel for you

you could fit an LPG kit to it, i think it adds around a 20% mix to the inlet charge (air) this improves power and gives a cleaner exhaust emmision.

can you do that with derv then??????? i thought it was a petrol thing

and with the cost of getting it fitted surley you could find a turbo derv engine

Are the mirrors any good? We put sherpa long arm mirrors on the lutons. Early ones by preferance.

Yes just change the back axle ratio. One of my identicall vans has a long ration axle fitted up rear and she is fast.. seriously it goes like a male rabbit in a hoar feamle rabbit warren ready and willing :o .
Can average her at 70-90 no probs. no bad for a J plate and fast uphill aswell with good torque.
My other van ahs a type9 box so its slower and on the standard axle but its fast in acceliration bad on fuel and wheelspins like a bstard.
Both vans go through rear tyres evry year and atleast 1 exaust system  .
One is a pile o sh*t the now and the other i bought her back after selling her she that good(j-plaTe). Transit vans are cool if left alone and not fettled with to much i reakon.
Your LDV is what happend when a LDV HGV mounted a transit on the a1 resulting in ur van  otherwise known as a mongrel .. stay pedigree.
I willingly drive a white van for a living, not through choice more for comfort!
