v6 in a transit??

how do i put a v6 in a transit.the engine i have got is a v6 2.9injection out of a granada g reg with a autobox.i know the engine will fit (got a welder and grinder will make it fit)want to know willl the auto box fit a transit or do i need a transit one??or is it easier to fit a manual box and if so which on?but would prefer a auto(just my preference)if using the granada auto box will the transit propshaft fit .....it will be going in a mk3 chassis cab going to change my engine again in my blue one...

put the auto box in mate ,you will have to mod a frew bits but would be worth it! you could do with a transit auto gearstick but these are hard to find! :D

gonna put auto box in and make up the gearstick or extend the original one in the granada but need to know will prop fit?? not a problem with the rest that i can see..

jay the only chance you might have of the prop fitting is if you van is 86-88 if you are mt75 then no it wont ! but i think you will have to mod the prop mate!

got a semi compleate van that is e reg was a 2.5 di. that has a type 9 gearbox(think it is)and the prop.between the lot i should be able to get something to fit.out of everything i have?my transit is g reg 1990.granada is g reg 1990 as well .going to take the engine out in the next day or so.then will try prop from e reg van to see if it will fit gearboxif not will try prop from mt transit and see how i get on from there.any help is much appreatiated from anyone who has done this..a photo of the exhaust will help.in the engine bay.

That exhaust was on last week, never had a bid :o
it you just extend the granny gear lever the top will move about 4 foot either way :lol:
me mate fitted a 24V in a Mk2 and had a similar problem i beleive he moved the pivot point up at the same time to lessen the throw of the stick,
it belonged to 24vtranny.
I beleive it had the 4 speed in it from the geanny as well :D

brakes???????what are they!!!!auto defo.

that exhaust was in leeds to far for me..gonna use granny exhaust down pipes and manifolds.with the help of welder and grinder :twisted:
It will fit :twisted: just need a bit of gentle perswation. :shock:

yes got the engine out of granny and electric windows/central lock seats and anything usefull.got the engine out of transit today wendsday and wires and anything i dont need.hope to be able to get the granny engine in tomoro with the auto box got to go away friday so wont get anything done then so have to wait till weekend to get engine pipes and exhaust done then.that will be fun.not very nice working away in the heat,so i got a gazebo over my van so i dont get to hot.keeps the beer cold as well.. :D

If you have any trouble with the wiring give me a PM done a few EFi conversion using granny parts :D
