Bosch Diesel Pump Injector Pipes

Postby Galahad » Sun Jan 22, 2006 6:30 pm

Right, E reg Transit 190 2.5 Diesel with a Bosch Diesel pump. Unfortunately, one of the cables on top of the engine rubbed a hole in the side of the front injector pipe!

Ford do not supply or make these anymore!!!!!!!

I managed to fabricate one from a later Lucas pump, bending it to fit, and it didn't even last a week before it sprang a leak, probably because it wasn't straight enough when bolted in and it caused tension.

If Ford don't do these pipes, does anyone know where I can get one from or is it a visit to a breakers?

for the offers chaps, but as a matter of urgency I need to get it tomorrow (Monday). I have a stack of cars to scrap and can't be without the Transit.

Anyone on here from around the Bath/Bristol area that can recommend a good breakers nearby?

Bugger....

Postby Galahad » Mon Jan 23, 2006 1:58 pm

Ok, I tried United Vans (cheers), but it appears that my engine is older than the hills :(

Its got a 1988 Bosch Injection system on it, it has two bolts either side of each injector, cast iron, 'old as the hills' I'm told.

I cannot get the right injector pipe anywhere.

Slightly later model engines, the pipes are too short. On the older model the pipes stretch right back through the same gap under the inlet manifold as the other pipes.

Help!

No joy...

Postby Galahad » Mon Jan 23, 2006 2:58 pm

already tried. 5 different companies don't do it, one company can, but they won't guarantee that the pipe will last very long (they said 5mins or 15miles).

you dont really have much choice do you :!: lose loads of money by not working or shell out a small fortune but at least your back on the road again

we couldnt get a set of pipes for one of our epic pumps scouted all the breakers still no luck ended up using a john guest plumbing fitting to join it all back van has done about 60k since then and still no leaks but this isnt a option to you as you said the old one dissapeared :(

LDV/ Sherpa

Postby Galahad » Mon Jan 23, 2006 3:18 pm

Am I right in thinking that LDV's or pre-LDV's used Transit engines?
