RADIATOR

MY NEW RADIATOR ARRIVED THIS AFTERNOON, IT IS ALUMINIUM, IS THIS NORMAL FOR RADIATORS NOW, OR IS THIS AN INFERIOR ONE. ALSO AS MY VAN IS AUTO , I THOUGHT IT WOULD COME WITH THE OIL COOLER, BUT HAVE BEEN TOLD MY EXISTING ONE BOLTS ON TO IT , IS THIS CORRECT IT WAS £85 NOT EXCHANGE. CAN ANYBODY TELL ME IF THIS RADIATOR IS RIGHT. THANKS

I've only seen aluminium rads on the smiles but can't remember what yours is!

woody is your oil cooler built in to your old rad . i thought the cooler was at the bottom . did you ask for the right one with the oil cooler . as some do have a cooler seperate . ally rads are ok .i think all newer vans have this .

MINE IS A MK3 2.0 LITRE PINTO WITH AUTO BOX. IT SAYS ON THE BOX IT CAME IN FOR 88-92 2.0 TRANSIT AUTO, JUST A BIT WORRIED THIS IS THE WRONG ONE THANKS

HI JIM, YES MINE HAS GOT THE OIL COOLER AT THE BOTTOM, BUT WHEN I PHONED THE COMPANY THEY SAID MY OIL COOLER SHOULD BOLT ON TO IT , I HOPE GETTING A BIT WORRIED NOW

woody the silver rad if fine thats what they are like now,as for the cooler if you have the rad with the cooler built in then you need the same! ,i am shure the last mk3 auto i had had the rad with the oil cooler built into it! ,if your new rad is not the same were are you going to put the oil cooler pipes !

THANKS MATE, I DID WONDER ABOUT THIS WHEN I LOOKED AT IT, WHEN I PHONED THE COMPANY, THEY SAID THE OIL COOLER BOLTS ON THE BOTTOM, BUT I CAN'T SEE THAT SOMEHOW. I WILL GET BACK ON TO THEM TOMORROW.

yes mate i think you have the wrong one there! if i can remember dont the pipes go in the rad on the drivers side ????

If it's like the Mk5 it's an "all in one job" and yes the pipes do go in on the drivers side toward the bottom

Yep one radiator not seperable or should I say-you can't seperate them

That's why I was well pleased I could change my timing belt without having to take it out. Or my job would have been more messy That's how I remember

I STILL HAVE THE OLD ONE , BUT IT'S GOT THE OIL COOLER ON THE BOTTOM, HAVEN'T BEEN OUT TO LOOK YET , TO SEE IF IT IS THE SAME CONNECTIONS, FROM WHAT EVERYBODY IS SAYING IT SOUNDS WRONG WON'T KNOW TILL TOMORROW,

Personally I think it's wrong too

I had a 1987 E reg.model and even though it was a while ago I think this was also an all in one unit

Your supplier says it's for an 88-92 It'll wait till tommorrow

Woody its definitely wrong if it aint got the 2 holes up the side,yours wont have the holes at the bottom,all Transit 1986 onwards have the tanks on the sides of the rad unlike the pre 86 transits that had the tanks underneath and above the core,the oil cooler is set inside one of the tanks and will be on the side,if the new rad aint got no holes back it!! a.s.a.p

HI GEOFF, JUST HAD ANOTHER LOOK AT IT, AND ON WHAT WOULD BE THE DRIVERS SIDE, THERE ARE TWO HOLES WITH NUTS ON THEM, THE HOLES ARE ABOUT 15 INCHES APART. DOES THIS SOUND RIGHT
