mk5 heater switch recurculate switch fit non recirculate?

hiya my switch is naff, fords want 25 plus vat for non circ and 45 plus for the circ one !!!


transitpartsuk sells a new non circ for 14.00


mine has the recirculate switch can i fit a normal one to it? cant see any benifit to the other bit anyway so wouldnt bother me

I'm pretty sure you can fit the normal one :)

my switch fooked up 2 months ago :lol:


some mornings i had to drive the truck onto my driveway and het the hairdryer out :cry:


once on a road it cleared but fook me it took ages

took switch apart today cleaned out, it can work on number 3 on recirc but its iffy, i have to push the switch about to get it to come on but atleast i have something now

as long as a normal one will fit mine ill just buy the 14 quid one from transit parts, bought a fair bit from him now never had a problem, although bought a cambelt kit from him while back and it had the old style tensioner which im not sure if i should fit it or not

will fit in place, but i think the plug is bigger on yours with more pins. can be done if you chop and wire. :lol:

When the recirculating switch died on my mk5 (it melted , as the resistor had died) , I used a none recirculating switch from my old scrap mk5. You can also use a simple on/off swich to activate the recirculation/none recirculatin flaps. I took an illuminated one from my old mk5 and wired it so that it lights up when set to recirculation (only when ignition is on), I now tend to switch between the two settings much more frequently than I ever did on the original set up.

The pins on the rear of the recirculation verses the standard switch are different , but are easy to work out.

ah right ok so it wont be a simple plug in then, so i need a recirc one, bloomin 45 plus the dredded at the dealers :(
