This morning having read all this i went out to my 1999 tranny and i pulled the rod off from the pump end, cabled tied it to the alloy inlet tubes so if i need to refit it i can just push the end of rod back on,, then i put a small cable tie round the other little pulley thing keeping the butterfly valve open, took it up the rode for a few miles it seems better, over the next week or 2 i will see if it alters the fuel consumption or performance......Now all i have to do is the same to my TD5 Discovery.

Ford Transit 280 SWB,,Year 2008,,2.2,, If it can,t be fixed/repaired/ with a 4 pound lump hammer then it must be an electrical problem.
