Every picture is full of rust ...he isn't showing the rest .... if you say the rest is ok Andy, tell him to get on with it and spend his money ...i'm just suggesting its not worth it, being as he has to pay someone else to do it.

So if your connect got a bit of corrosion you'd just scrap it then ?? Your slating the guys pride and joy for no reason cause it's clearly fixable, going by what your sayin 90% of transits on should be scrapped

the pictures show the very worst - that's why you can't see the rest - the actual structural beams are good. No garage said a word about it. I did try to explain but they concentrated on the sills and the panels around the wheels which don't do much except for protecting the wheels and holding themselves. Then I'll take some more pictures...

More pics - considering the thickness this in my view is mostly a rust converter's job:

It's frustrating but I've considered everything -
1) renting private parking spaces? You have to meddle with the owners who might not like the dust and noise from power tools (eg. to remove the rust).
2) Keep moving the van locally from one parking area to the next and do this job on the road? Too dangerous....and the risk of being clamped (all job done down the trash).
3) A large parking space near Stoke is available for 65pm - any size of van and campervan allowed...maybe a solution there.

more pics: maybe the most troublesome under the chassis is the bow (second pic) but it's thick enough (my view). The rest around the wheels and sills isn't structural...

i would inclined to have that lot shot blasted.

,..or someone use the latest laser cleaning methods.

... be there with some sort of phosphoric acid primer, strait after, followed by zinc primer and gloss .

as regards places to weld ..ask a few farmers if you can rent their space ..large farms have mechanics who can weld. ..may be worth a few enquiries
