You can't upload video directly, it needs to be posted to 'youtube' (or similar), and then post the link here :)

Re: Full lock weird noise VIDEOS UPLOADED

Postby Harrypalmer » Tue Jan 06, 2026 9:34 am

Hi all

Here we go

I’ve taken 2 videos and I hope this helps identify the problem with why I’m getting a weird juddering noise when I turn my steering wheel.

Recap what I’ve done so far:

1. I changed the whole steering pump successfully
2. Removed the serpentine belt and cleaned the belt and brushed all the pulleys
3. Still noise persists only when I turn the wheel
4. Less noise when I rev the engine and turn the steering wheel at the same time.

The first video is from underneath with the engine idling You cat hear the offending noise because I’m not turning the steering wheel

This second video hopefully shows (with the belt off) just how free the pulleys are.

Can anyone see the root of what could possibly be the problem?

Cheers

The one way clutch in the alternator pulley is seized……..
I gave instructions on the page before how to confirm this.

You need to replace the alternator pulley which can be done in situ.
There is also a link to a YouTube video on another of my previous post about this.

Cheers frag

It doesn’t feel seized ?

The alternator pulley does spin round? It’s the one at the top I think I’m right in saying. The one highest in the engine.

it’s not right is what you are saying.

Cheers for your patience
