EGT and DPF Regen

So for those out there with a Mk7 Transit I would suggest the following;

If the engine warning light is on, the first step is to read the code and if you have P2463 then read on here, if it is another, like say P00BD look elsewhere on this forum.

Open the bonnet and locate the DPF pressure sensor (it is on the LHS below the brake servo) and remove it using plyers to slide off the two short rubber hoses. The p/n on the sensor will be 6G9N-5L200-AB and probably FoMoCo (see pic).

Next use the £10 (from ebay) hand pump to test both of these hoses for pressure, the rear hose (the one nearest the bulkhead) is a larger diameter, try the one first. If your pump shows pressure this could well be your issue - blocked pipe to the DPF or a blocked DPF.

I could not find a way to test the DPF sensor so just replaced it as it was 13 years old, but you need to 'tell' the van that it is new using a scan tool type of tester.
