:? Question number ? (lost track). The temperature gauge on the bus hardly ever moves from just below the minimum mark (it does move up slightly to this position when turning the ignition on). The only time I have seen it climb was when we were climbing out of Gloucester last night on the A417 (a very steep climb, always down to 3rd gear by the top).

The engine doesn't seem to have any problems and I haven't experienced any of the problems that I had when my previous minibus ('89 Diesel) had the thermostat go i.e no heating. Any ideas?

HIYA FRANK , IT TAKES AGES FOR MY TEMP NEEDLE TO GO UP , THE ONLY TIME IT GOES UP IS IF I AM DRIVING FOR A HOUR OR SO DIVING IN AND OUT THE VAN WITH IT TICKING OVER , IF YOU WANT TO TEST IT JUST LEAVE IT TICKING OVER WHEN YOU GET HOME FROM A DRIVE TILL THE NEEDLE GETS HIGH THEN WAIT FOR THE FAN TO CUT IN , JUST TO GIVE YOU PIECE OF MIND NOTHING IS WRONG , IT WILL TAKE A WHILE

Back again guys....

My Torneo has a heated front screen, only it isn't working. The light on the dasboard switch comes on and then goes off after so long, which I'm guessing is the relay working, and of course, now I want to try various options the weather warms up, so it doesn't mist!

Any ideas where to look?

take the black plastic scutle panel off and you will see the wires at the bottom of the screen (each corner) and test these to see if you have power running to the screen

HIYA FRANK , AS GVM SAID UNDER THE SCUTTLE PANNEL THERE SHOULD BE A CONNECTION , MINE IS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE , MAYBE IT WASNT CONNECTED WHEN THE SCREEN WAS REPLACED

Those heated front screens are great when they work but they're notoriously unreliable!
I remember our old works MK5 had one, it was replaced under warranty about once every 3-4 months until the warranty ran out!
Still it never failed completely just some of the wires. You should still see a few wires working even if it's really well used.

Will look guys, but I need daylight.. so it will be a weekend job. The day job is incredibly busy at the moment (I'm certainly earning the Queen's Shilling at present).

Sounds like the terminal has snapped off then Mark

Only a new screen will fix that one.
