Good Evening crazyscoot and thank you for going to the trouble of getting the # of the pump for me,the # on the pump make sense as i been told the pump # ending with 145 or146 will do the job.Interesting the you do not recall the injectors being changed. Is the van much different to drive with the different setup power wise as i am always on the 3.5 ton limit and the lucas epic setup done nicely [when it worked].

The van pulls far better without the epic....keeps me smilling :D
Really pulls well at this time of year with all the cold air being sucked in.
Hope you get yours sorted mate

the epic pump system is a rubish idea its such a shame as the engines tend to pull just that little bit more up the hills! but haveing that exra 15ps you have to pay for it! :?

Thank you for your reply.Would be very interested to know the numbers on your pump and did you change your injectors or did you leave the blue ones in when you changed.is there any difference in the overall pulling power of the vehicle when loaded

all that needs done is the actuator rod altered this lets the turbo hold more boost before the waistgate on the turbo opens .my turbo is turned up as much as it wood go or so i was told by the tuning place who turned it up :D

Ive tryed adjusting the actuator (both directions) and it didn't seem to have any effect. Am i right in saying its the actuator that sits along side the exhaust maifold? and not the one that sits towards the fron of the engine bay? Is your actuator wound in or out?

My actuator has the actuator wound most of the way out ie adjustment nut towards the back of van. Be good to hear that ive got it the wrong way as i'm in for a bit treat if it is  :D My turbo pipes are sound and secure and never had the problem you have.......although i may be running low boost!

Dose any body no of another pump that will fit the TD ie from another TD engine like the montgo 2.0 td ? or toyota 2.4 td or what it would take to mod to make it work wright, one with a throtle cable, to get rid of the crappy the epic pump system

on your turbo it should have a long threaded shaft from the diaphragm! what you do is shorten the rod as to shorten the spring inside the diaphragm then as the turbo boosts the small pipe that is on the compresion side of the turbo cant push the actuator as far open there for keeping more boost presure in the inlet system and there you go more pulling power hope this helps

This is an interesting thread, I am about to book myMk5 smiley in to have the injector pump repaired, the seals are leaking and one fuel line has a minor leak. I'm one of many, one of the fuel companies has dropped some c*ap fuel into a few tanks. The only repairer for tranny pumps is flat out and will take at least 5 days to just look at it.

On a brighter note, my local mechanic who does a lot of work on trannys is looking into fitting a V-6 petrol engine, he is talking with the MOT people to see what they require in the way of 'other' modifications, he suspects an upgrade of brakes and perhaps some suspension changes.

I will keep you posted on progress and full details if it comes off, he has been working on this for about 3 months and is very confident the engine will go in without to much trouble.

Avagoodweekend......

Thanks for that Ryzman.....The nut on mine is about 3/4 of the way down the rod (away from the compressor) I'll wind it in towards the compressor over the weekend and let you know how she pulls  I could be in for a suprise!.........could do with a boost gauge to keep my eye on it though!
