my loom has seen better days so im thinking of using as much of the sierra loom as possible

hmmm depeds how confident you are with wiring - the sierra loom is massave if its a ghia- so many wires all over the place

its not a ghia ive wired a sd1 efi up before now so should be ok ....i know where to come if i get any probs !!!! would just like to say what a helpfull friendley bunch of folks we have here

you should be ok then!! the actual engine loom is pritty easy once its stripped out - just the rest of the loom thats a nightmare if its not a ghia theres a lot less of the "crap" in it so that is a bouns!!!

luke you where right about ghia,s having wires all over the place, the car is a debadged ghia !! but with a carefull bit of taging of what i need i should be ok recon i will have a bin bag full of spare wire when ive finished !!!

yeah mate they are a nightmare - i did mine on a ghia all them extra wires for the door adjar sensors etc. pain in the neck!!!

no they didnt fit it to some..mainly pinto petrol ones.and a few mk3 diesal.and its very weird how some diesals trannys are noisy and some are quiet..my luton is quiet(but it is turbo with bosch cable pump)but A friends tranny is a di with lucas pump and very noisy..

pinto injection is the way to go with a transit much more economical than a carb one..(well it was in a sierra)

How comes your running a Bosch Turbo in your luton What year/BHP is it Or have you had it modded My luc-ass pump is well noisey so have to have the stereo up high to drown it I don't want to touch it though 'cause of what i've learnt from this forum But in all honesty it has (should I dare say it) NEVER given me any problem apart from the noise

was lucky to see a injected pinto today at a boot sale tatty old greenhouse but running great

my van has a 2.5 di out of a 1988 van that i broke up,i put the engine in another van and put a turbo on the engine and had the pump adjusted inside to give it more fuel on mid throttle to full throttle ..the turbo is from a banana turbo engine (the engine had a hole in the block)with the manifold and downpipe and i fitted the inlet manifold as well...but didnt use the fuel pump as i couldnt be bothered with wiring it up(EPIC crap )
dunno what the bhp is but it do go well.I have had the luton up to 90 mph(on a private road of course )empty..but to give u a example of how powerful it is..I can go up the hill on the M11 coming out of london just before the M25 with trailer loaded and van loaded and in 4th gear and keep my speed to 65-70mph

how many miles you done on this conversion as i didnt think n/a engines liked turbo's being bolted on

I have done about 25000 miles since january2006 in the luton....and had done about 15000 miles when it was in my previouse van the engine had done about 90000 miles in the original van(thats what it had on the clock dunno if it was genuine.)still going well with a very heavy right foot and dont burn any real amout of oil maybe 1/4 litre per 5000 miles

must be a myth thats what put me off turbo'ing the old hicube(76ps banana) yours proves this can be done whats it like on derv

the only loom diagram i have is for the very early EFI loom with the ignition modual on the side of the dist (large blue dist cap)
Most of your loom will be the same up till the granny loom goes into the relays so thats only out of the 9 that run from the ECU/Engine loom into the car we need worrie about.
