You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

Took van into north east truck and van to be plugged in to computer today and it came up codes 1190 1174 with are calibration resistor and pump cam position , cost £30 for the priviledge . Does anyone think its worth replacing cam sensor also if timming belt was slack would a fault show up on ecu as technician seemed to think timing was ok but I later went to see diesel specialist who says it could be a number of reasons causing these fault codes and not always the part themselves. He wants 50 quid an hour to start experimenting + parts   Beem me up scotty!

If he's any good he'll have it diagnosd in an hour.
When my van goes into 'limp home mode', which it does at regular intervals, the engine management light comes on permanently and it blows shed loads of smoke out the back.
It's always worth checking the turbo pressure. My 100ps drove like a dog when I got it but the wastegate actuator had fallen off the turbo. Bolting it back on made a massive difference. The turbo pressure should be around 0.8bar (above atmospheric).

If the cam belt was slack that would give you the faults you came up with, so I would have the tensioner and belt done.

Good advice :D Or at least get it checked, if you can't :!:

You don't want your belt to let go, do you  :?:
