I hear what everyone is saying but to me it sounds like a "closed shop".to keep the prices artificially high

Time this shop was opened  :D :lol:And I promise that if my pump went wrong it'll be opened sooner rather than later

You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

I think the pump's the same but the problem is the ECU 'talks' to the gearbox telling it how far down my foot is on the pedal. So if I loose the pedal for a manual one the ECU will become an angry woman  (send the gearbox to Coventry  )

Had a scary moment on the motorway in a contraflow, the limp home cut in and i couldn't get out of the outside lane because of inside lane traffic! Glad ive done the conversion :D
To be honest, i couldn't say to you, yes it was electronic. But my gut feeling was that it was and so i searched for the electronics because i thought it must be the cheapest way of getting it back on the road.

Did you not suspect a sensor :?:
What's the maximum speed in limp home mode?
Can you use all the gears still :?:

The guy that converted my pump said that they were non fixable and that the pump would be scrapped  The max speed that i could get was prob about 20mph in LHM which is why it got scarey in the outside lane of a contraflow

i managed 55mph in los mode 5th gear too :? its usually a actuator inside the pump that goes wrong :( im sure if you could get the bit you might be able to do it yourself :? :? :?

This is exactly what I was thinking  We could fix them ourselves :D Why not :?:
Save a fortune on converting to manual pumps. And besides manual pumps no good on my van :(
Tune them up a bit and every body will putting these back into their vans
Negative reality inversion

I've had a look and the info here, is as clear as mud :(

Firstly Fords for some strange reason (If someone can explain I'll be greatfull) only had the 85PS engine available if you opted for the automatic transmission.
You couldn't have any other engine on a smiley auto.

The three letters together on the pump denote the month and year and place of manufacture eg; .....CNG = march '95 Gillingham and .........BTG = feb 2001 Gillingham.

If the other numbers that were talked about, are what was said, ie;ending between 1 and 9 not suitable for auto and numbers ending in 10 to 55 are suitable for auto, How comes your manual pump is suitable for auto :?: and it's a 100PS pump :?:That was never available as an auto :?

What was the outcome :?: Why don't people post back to complete the thread :?: Did it work :?:

And I've just double checked and I don't have a B prefix :?

Have you also got a 100PS ECU :?:
