If both vans are diesel then the starters should be compatible but no harm in checking

The starter motor on it is from a Vreg transit. Same teeth as the one i pulled off(13). Would this be ok??

There are 2 earth wires on mine. main one goes to a terminal on the starter and the other smaller on goes into the harness.
Should the main neg battery strap go to the starter? Not the mounting bolts but the terminal on the starter!!
Should there be one that connects to engine somewhere??
Anyone live near Warwick, Warwickshire. Midlands!!!!
