Hi, this is my 1st post - I've only just registered but have been lurking for a while!

I've got exactly the same problem as TR4N51T - the N/S sidelight and headlamp leveller have no power to them. This is on a Mk6, 04 plate 90 LWB Hi-top.

The Haynes manual shows which pins do what on the headlight connector and I've metered to check there's definitely no power there, but I've not got a detailed wiring diagram (so have just ordered a TIS CD from ebay) to find where the cable splits from. All I really want to know for now is where the junction is so I can check continuity on the wire.

I'm not near the van or the Haynes manual right now and it was about a week back that I checked it so apologies if I've not got every detail correct!

Cheers,
Mark

Hi, further to my last post, I've now got the TIS CD but it's not got enough info to find if there's a junction for the sidelights or whether the feeds for the 2 sidelights both come straight from the fusebox...

Would be great to be able to track exactly where the power to the N/S sidelight comes from so I can check the wiring more thoroughly.

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Thanks,
Mark

Fixed it! Just for info if anyone's interested, I never did find where the cable comes from, but whilst investigating it I happened to find that where the wiring loom runs immediately behind the N/S headlight unit it had rubbed through against the chassis. This had obviously shorted the side light circuit there originally. But the individual wire to the N/S side light had actually worn right through. Cleaned it, resoldered it and neatly covered in new insulation tape and the job's a good'un. Was most happy to have finally tracked down the fault and fixed it. That also then gave power to the headlight levelling motor. All I need to do now is get a garage to check the headlight alignment as I ended up removing both headlight units in the process of trying to find the fault!
