mk1 front axle

I just bought a mk1 twin wheel chassis cab and need to know if a mk3 twin wheel font axle would fit to give better brakes would the mk3 drag link fit the mk1 steering box or will a mk3 box fit to give power steering am fitting a mk3 di engine and box this old girl is going earn its keep when done also will have a yorkie engine and box for sale. :shock:

Welcome ovlov, wouldn't also have a volvo would you?!!! :lol: Now, the Mk2 axle will fit the Mk1 cos we did it in the dim and distant past, and the Mk3 axle will fit a Mk2, so I would say yes the axle will fit, but I can't help you with the rest. Somebody on here will though!

Mate ive fitted a full mk3 front axle to my swb mk 1 the only problen is the tapers are slightly different on the drag link but it will fit!!

If you put the mk3 steering box on that would sort it - im sure it would go on with no too much trouble! :D

everything mk3 fits apart from the draglink end you will need to get it rethreaded ,i am running half mk3 and half mk1 ,unfortunatly the wrong half as i still have the drum breaks! :lol:
