Ok mate, I hope that all the towbar socket numbers / wiring colours are the same...

Look at the inside of the towbar socket (side that has the screws to clamp wiring)

1/L= Black and White wire = Left Indicator
2= White wire = Fog
3/31= Brown wire = Earth
4/R= Black and Green wire = Right Indicator
5/58-R= Grey and Red wire = Side light
6/54= Black and Red wire = Stop lights
7/58-L= Grey and Black wire = Side light
8= Black wire = Cuts off foglights on van when trailer board fitted

No mate if your socket is the same as mine then as you look inside at the connectors with the screws you have the 7 pins in the center and one on the outer with a metal strip and the connector is closes to the outside for the black wire if you know what I mean....

Mine only has 7 pins nothing on the outside I put them both in the same pin and everything seems to work but saying that my light board has no fog lights so I will have to find one with fogs and check it out, should there be a buzzer or something when the indicators are used with the board lights

Thanks for the update i thought that all trailer wiring had to have a way of informing the driver that the indercators on the trailer were working but obviously this isnt the case, thanks again for your help.
