taz666 wrote:don't run before you walk, the wiring IS the most common cause of this code and others on fwd transits, I know as ive fixed hundreds of them even after other garages have fitted new pumps, p1665 is a communication code for the pump, if the wiring is touching the starter, the loom shorts out and the engine stops, simples!!

I know this was some time ago, but can anyone please point me to instruction to access the wire loom that may be touching the starter. I think taz666 post was on the button.

Just follow the loom back from the pump, and where it bends around the starter is the place to look. Open up the harness and check each wire carefully for splits and internal breaks of the copper core wires.
This is only really for a Mk6 FWD TDDi

It's a Transit TDDi engine, but it's RWD so unlikely to have the pump wiring problem.

Oh, so my problem is unlikely to be the wiring then?
Any other ideas. It used to start spot on, ran out of diesel or someone nicked the diesel, filled up and problem since. Cracked the jets and all ok. Tried with Bradex easy start and it will turn over but not without bradex. The it has p1665 error, glowing light flashing, and IDS says earth issue, hence I thought Wiring

P1665 points to a pump IDC issue...fairly common.

Sorry for delay on this due to health.
No I have not ever tried to tow or bump start.
If not the electrical wire then it could be fuel pump IDC? How to correct this?

Hi, Anyone near St Albans area on here that can come and look. I will pay travel and all time and any parts regardless of whether successful - just need to know where I stand with this van . All I am trying to do is to get it started. Obviously I need to agree who. Altransit, can you help?

I will not take it to Ford because on another vehicle the emergency brake was not working (Galaxy - going hard on sudden stop but no braking) so they fitted a new master cylinder and charged me c £750 just for the part and when I drove away the problem was the same, took it back, and they found a small brake pipe was the cause. Did I get a refund for the master cylinder - NO I didn't

Having read on here I trust people on here more than main dealer
