Diesel fuel

Postby nr.6 » Sun Jul 31, 2005 12:06 am

Hi,

I own a 2004 125ps TDCI and it is truly a perfect van. But I noticed a slight uneven running of the engine at idling. Took it to the dealer and had it checked but it appeared nothing was wrong. However, while visiting the U.K. just a few days ago it happened again. It only occurs at idling, so as long as the engine runs faster than idling there seems nothing wrong. The van is still in its warranty period being nearly one and a half years old now. So could it be the TDCI engine is very sensitive for the quality of diesel fuels? If so, what could be done to prevent this uneven running? Just to explain it a bit more, the engine is a but wobbly when idling, so when the governor takes over. Not all the time, just now and then. I'm worried this could be an expensive fix when warrenty period is over and it appears something was wrong with it after all.....
Be seeing you !
