Postby charlieboy » Sat Aug 20, 2005 9:24 pm

Hi every1,ive got a transit 190 lwb on a T plate 1999,engine slow, gearbox very noisey, due for a new one,but thought van in good condition why not replace engine/box with a 125psi rather than existing 90 ?,would a later model transit engine/box fit straight in? would love to hear your comments. cheers c/b.

it would mean alot of electrical work as the 125 turbo unit has an electronic fuel pump and was rather over complicated in the electrics department. They are unfortunately quite slow as standard but i dont think there is alot you can do about that other than maybe fitting a tuned 2.0l overhead cam engine and to regain some form of fuel economy this could be made to run on LPG quite easily and flipped to petrol as and when needed. Just a thought this is the route im thinking of going down when i get time for a project.
