indecator problem

indecator problem

my indicator lever on my 1997 transit does not return once switched to direction left or right even when you turn the steering wheel and return the steering wheel to straigt position can anyone help thanx :shock:

The first thing i'd do is remove the steering wheel and look to see if the part that returns the indicator is missing! Its a little circular piece with a noggin on!! :? not sure what you call it!!

if thats not missing its probly the indicator stick either broken or stuck!! If you remove the wheel and push the indicator up and down you should see it flick in every time!! if it doesn't thats the problem!!

It is a bit of a weak spot on the mk3 transits!!!

Welcome Richie. Some things never change, exactly the same thing happens with our 1986 Mk2s! I would say it's the little bit that follows the wheel around and cancels the indicator as it goes past too, Luke beat me to it :lol:

i thourt i broke mine today when i had the wheel off but thakfully its ok! :lol:
