Is it a utility van?

Every mk7 I've seen has not had the hardware for pto so a fault code is generated p0251a circuit open.
This it's purely due to certain pcm updates namely the 2012 1 that added anti stall.
The way around it was to go into service functions in ids and change it from 3 speed to none.
However, I don't think it did anything other than generate that code, trying to turn on pto wouldn't do anything.

The pto hardware is just a resistance ladder and it allows the engine tickover revs to be raised as per each bridge (3 speed) so 1000 2000 3000(only an example) which would help you get up hills or if you were working the van with generators i guess.
Maybe other actual reasons but the point is you probably didn't have it.

There is another pto system but the above is related to your pto code only.
I don't know where the pto resistance ladder is unfortunately, it might be on the old engine?? It would make sense that you did have it (although I've never seen 1!) And it is on the engine and that changing your engine resulted in you having this situation which doesn't happen to anyone else as it is so rare.

Also. How and why did you activate pto? I believe it is a combination of foot pedals pressed to activate each set speed, if you pressed a button on the dash to turn a generator on or something like that then that is another system altogether and the fault code is just to do with software updated and not relevant at all just a coincidence and in fact you have another stalling problem.

Well you did bloomin ask

the pro system is not Ford supplied, its aftermarket, so you need to contact the manufacturer to find the instructions etc

2013 Ford Fiesta Van 95ps

It sounds like your missing the wake up signal to the pcm like mine .
I've had a dpf delete and now it won't increase in rpm for my generator and air compressor.
It's a 5-12v signal I belive on a white and blue cable to pcm ,being the positive and a white and black cable being the negative.
I've made all the same contacts with suppliers and fitters and have all info .
Just afraid to cut into harness to confirm.
Let me know if you have any joy .
