central locking locks but wont open again ????

hi there i have tried looking on here but i cant seem to find the answer i am looking for (due to being slightly obtuse i suspect ) if someone could help or point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated ,

right so the central locking will lock all the doors and sliding door but then wont open any of them again using the key there is no noise from any of the locks i dont have a fob at all but surely it should open using the key anyway right?????

Just a thought.....when You turn the key to the right are You pushing it quite hard ? The lock mechanism is pretty stiff to actuate. Regards Stephen Australia

I would suspect the unlock remote button being faulty or dirty .

hi thanks for your replies , yeah i am turning it as hard as possible without breaking it and i dont have the remote for it , i have ordered a new lock and fob will just have to wait and see if that works if not i havent got a clue

You can lock any Tibbe locked Ford with any Tibbe key, but only the correct key will unlock it, so it could be that you either have an incorrect key; or maybe the lock, or key, is worn (more likely the key)

Get another blank key cut, it doesn't need to have a chip, and if that unlocks the door, Bob's yer dad's bruv

but the same key starts the van fine no problem and doesnt look worn too badly :s where cuts these keys would timpsons or something do these or is it a specialist job? thanks alan

Well, it's worth a try.
My Mk6 had a key which started it, but wouldn't open the door or the bonnet, so I had an unchipped key cut just for that job.

Timpsons can cut one for you.

so the new key didnt work i have ordered a new lock and i messaged on anothr topic , they said it could be electrical which is not my forte thanks alan

The door lock and key are purely mechanical and should work with no power, unless there's a mechanical problem with the lock or the key.

hi there so i have a new problem because i cant turn the barrel to the unlock it properly i cant press the deadlock thing in to get the barrel out :s andd yes i have tried mc hammer on it lol please help thanks alan
