Keeps stalling?

Postby Hedgie » Wed Aug 29, 2018 7:14 am

hi all, my bus is taking a couple of goes to get started in the morning but has also developed an issue when I stop at traffic lights, junctions etc. Most times the revs briefly drop down to around 650rpm and the bus cuts out. It re starts on the turn of the key and idles fine!
Drives fine when moving just doesn't seem to like stopping :-)

Have you had the codes read..??

I'm guessing a duff PRV.

Had the codes read but not showing any faults. It was a code reader from the internet, the ELM327 but nothing comes up in terms of error codes.

Contacted a couple of local garages and they both said they can't do the work as they are dealer parts only? Is that right or are they just trying to fob me off?

Depends on what parts they're talking about..?? SCV & PRV should be genuine Ford parts, we've had many issues with aftermarket items not working well.

What program was used to read the codes..?? IDS, Forscan..??

You'll need IDS or Forscan....most of the others may have trouble with some codes.

I’d say blown prv also.

Ids and forscan can both be downloaded for free. Delphi and most other decent equipment can perform pump learns and injector pilot.
