IDS remapping

Postby gregd72002 » Mon Sep 03, 2018 12:31 pm

Hi,

As per the title, I see two options:
Trick the IDS to use a different PCM calibration file (same model but higher PS)
Use IDS to run PCM as-built and change the Tag

Anybody has done/tried something similar?

Thanks,

I understand you have a Euro-5 2.2..??

This info below is for Euro-4 but I suspect yours may be similar.
I doubt it'll work as you want it to, the injectors are different flow rates depending on what ps you want to go to.... for example, the 100 & 115ps 2.4TDCi engines have lower rate injectors compared to the 140ps engine....and the turbo's are also different, normal wastegate type compared the electronic VNT turbo of the 140ps. So, essentially you can't run the 140ps map on a 100/115ps engine.

You can re-map them via the normal way as Martyn (Vantuner) would do to get the best out of them though.

Yes, it is Euro 5 2.2 (125ps)

As of yesterday evening I managed to flash different PCM calibration file (one from 155ps version). The van started and drover but had way less power than the original 125ps.
I am back to stock calibration file now.

Different turbo/injectors would explain this behaviour for sure. Interesting though! Might dig through ECAT to check the part numbers.

The injectors and pump are the same between the versions I've used but turbo had a different model. Maybe this was the problem.

I'm gonna give it another go with a model that is closer to mine: WF0YXXTTGYFC75793 (same injectors, pump & turbo just different power). Could someone extract the calibration file name for this vin please?

Can't help with the Euro-5's I'm afraid....

I found all the information on Ford ETIS Online. Programmed it with the new calibration file and all works fine :)

Now the question is - has the new calibration actually increased the output of the engine :?:

Hi gregd72002

I have tried mapping my custom 125ps with a calibration number from a 155ps but ids keeps saying invalid calibration number or not recognised. Do you know why? Is it because I’m using the the lasted vcmm?
