Non start

Postby Nozzle71 » Tue Sep 18, 2018 6:35 pm

Crankshaft pulley failed yesterday on my 2012 rwd transit. Replaced today now not starting. Obviously had crank sensor out to lock crank put it back in engine spins over for about 5 seconds and stops turning I get engine malfunction on dash. Moved sensor slightly now just spins over constantly no warnings displayed. Is there a way to set the crank sensor??

Thanks

You dont lock the crank at the sensor when changing the pulley  The pick up ring is more than likely fubar  Read the codes
On the sixth day God created a Sprinter on the seventh he gave it away and bought a TRANSIT

Try shoving sensor in more, where it drops too is where you tighten it. New ones have a wee nib that touches ring but your old one may still have a bit of nib,
but as bambi says you've probably damaged yer ring (ouch)
