Smiley turbo with intermittent engine light

Postby leachy2 » Thu Oct 04, 2018 5:21 pm

Hi I run a smiley face transit , twin wheeler which has the turbo , I have a problem with the old girl , when you turn off the engine has started running on and take longer to stop . After restarting the engine the engine light comes on and then runs down on power .
Has anyone had this problem?? What the problem here ? Pump or ecu ? It’s there away to read engine folts ?

Thanks , any help would be grateful as I run this truck ever day it’s how I make my living

fuel cut off/stop solonoid on the pump.

either knackered or has debris fouling it's operation.

+1 on the belt though throwing the light up

If it's running on after switching off, the problem will be the ESOS, (electronic switch off solenoid) as said above.
As a test, if you stall the engine at the same time as switching off the key, the van should then re-start with no fault light
