bleeding t330 transit

Postby nutnut73 » Sat Oct 13, 2018 1:03 pm

Hi
i need to bleed my transit t330 mk6. im not sure what pipe on filter housing to take of for this. any help would be appreciated.

basicaly i had van sitting for a few weeks ( 4 or 5 ) started it once during that time but went out the other day and wouldnt start at all. no idea why ? ive brought new battery and starter motor. im assuming over time the diesel has fallen back towards tank through gravity ? so thought of bleeding it to bring it back up ?

thanks in advance.

no lights are flasing, the glow plug light goes out as normal. the led light on dash goes out to as normal when ignition is on. ive got a basic code reader but i keep getting link error with that so cant read the codes.
its real frustating as only had it running a couple of weeks back.
all feedback is welcome,

thanks

Mk6 are funny on code readers, elm327, f-super and IDS work on them, most obd2 reader don't work as they are not obd2 complaint.

Is there fuel in the fuel filter?

The eml327 is cheap bit make sure you get a ford one, scantool direct sell them, then download forscan for free.

hi have put one on order, thanks for info on that :D

just a heads up, i have now managed to get van started. diesel had run back towards tank, brought a hand primer ( cheep one ) primed system and got someone to crank van while still priming and a little bit of easy start and now all good, took a while to clear air out of system though.

will definitely use code reader ive ordered to see what what codes come up, will always be handy

thanks for your input guys, realy appreciated.

If you have more trouble with the fuel (i.e in the morning) then the filter head might be faulty, tddi's can be a pig the bleed, glad it's sort of sorted 8)

Ned, thanks for this hint. I'm presently having a heck of a time with diagnosing both my 2002 LDV convoy with Duratorq 2.4 powertrain and 2002 Ford Transit 2.4 powertrain too. I do have Forscan on my Laptop and Android Tab but none have been able to connect to the vehicles' ECUs. I have a modified ELM327 I bought off Jumia (an online store here in Nigeria) and a Bluetooth ELM327 I bought off same store. I'm at the end of my wit as to what next to do. I sometimes came across one Maxiecu sold by Scantooldirect, which they claim will work perfectly on pre-2004 diesel Ford Transits. However, no one in the forum has offered a definite answer ad to the efficacy of Maxiecu as a diag tool. Is there a way one can actually diagnose pre-2004 Transits without IDS... Please I'm dying for an answer. Thanks

Hello my good man,

Some elms don't work have a read of the link in this thread, viewtopic.php?f=5&t=189846#p1621948
It tells of all the comparable readers for forscan, if you are knowledgeable with computers the f-super reader does connect with the pre 2003 vans but the formidable program isn't as good as for scan, is the Bluetooth on and visable on your laptop/tablet, I only ask as my WiFi elm wouldn't connect until it was pointed out I hadn't linked the 2 together

What issues are you having with both vans?

The LDV Convoy starts at tick over but will not rev. I let it idle for over 20mins yet it refused to rev. I changed the fly-by-wire throttle pedal, yet no response. The Transit is a different story: its piston rings were due for replacement so I did replaced them. Engine refuses to start thereafter. I needed the van for some work on my friend's farm then so I had to install a DI Injector pump. It has been working ever since but its performance has reduce so noticeably. Thanks

I'm not very familiar with the 2.4 tddi but did you fit the correct fuel pump? There are 2, a VP30 & a VP44 so depending on the power output of your van will depend which pump it needs.

On the convoy have a good look at all the wires especially from the pump, there could be a broken wire somewhere.
