PCM Update / Pump relearn in Swinton Manchester

Postby Viatron » Mon Oct 15, 2018 1:39 pm

Working away from home and had a few issues with the wagon resulting in me going to be doing a pcv / svc swap in the car park of the Novotel tonight!
Can anyone assist or recommend anywhere in Swinton Manchester to get a pcm update / pump relearn done. Tried the main stealer and they couldn’t be less interested if they tried

How far back to home? If it solves yr issues then you could nurse it home then do the learns? Not ideal or recommended but a last resort.
Are you changing file filter too?

What were the issues you were having that leads you to do the PRV SCV?

Cheers all. Problem was a loss of power combined with aa lot of hunting on idle. It was so gutless this morning I was being overtaken up hills by hgv’s!
Managed to get a prv and an scv from PF Jones late this afternoon and a new fuel filter from euro. Spent an hour in the car park of the hotel and fitted them all and normal service is now resumed and just been for a test drive and it feels more responsive and nippy than it has for a while, not bad as I’ve just come up to 218700 miles and it’s still the original engine!
Just decided I need to show it some more love so have ordered a full timing chain kit along with a new oil pump kit so guess what I’m doing at the weekend! The only bummer is that the pump relearn and com update will wipe my vantuner map so it means another trip to Uxbridge ASAP

Don't do a pcm update.

Fuel pump learn and injector pilot learn is all you need :D
