V5- what is my body type?

Postby robertredford » Tue Nov 13, 2018 12:43 pm

Hi, years ago I changed my Transit body type to a camper/motor caravan- now I want to change it back to... not a camper- but I don't know what to fill in on my V5! My van is a 2003 mk6, it has a bench seat in the back, with one window each side in the back- i.e. it has a window in the sliding door and the opposite side. So I don't think it is a panel van- is it a crew cab? Or is it just a 'van' ?

Can anyone with a similar layout- i.e. 2or 3 seats in the front and a bench seat in the back with a window each side have a look on their V5 and see what they have? I am worried I will change it to the wrong thing and then insurance will be void or whatever.

Thanks!

Common for it to be noted down as " Van with Windows" by DVLA on v5.
Although you can put it down as DCIV (Double Cab In Van)

Downside is you will have to stick to lower speed limits

***NOTE*** You will have to notify your insurance of any change. :!:

My LWB with rear window each side is down as a 'combi'. It had a 3 seat fitted when I bought it with bulkhead behind.

On the Ford build/features list you get from a ETIS enquiry, mine is officially a 'double cab in van' in Ford speak.
