Mk7 ps85 2007 turbo feed pipe

Postby hernehillphil1 » Thu Jan 17, 2019 6:49 pm

I've had my van for 5000 miles......it had a new turbo when I bought it.
The van pulls like a train but the turbo has started leaking and i have blobs of oil forming on the back of the van and the turbo is noisy.
i'm told the probable reason is the sump wasn't cleaned and the turbo oil feed pipe wasn't renewed and the turbo bearing has either been starved or has some crap in it.

I'm pulling together all the bits to change the turbo.......new sump pan, turbo etc but the turbo oil feed pipe 6k679 1744419 seems inordinately expensive......£120-£140!!!......quoted £157 at the ford spares counter!!!
This seems ridiculous.......its only a bit of pipe with a couple of banjo connectors on it.....I find it difficult to believe no enterprising person considered making an aftermarket replacement for £30-40 ......after all its hardly rocket science, not like an hp injector pipe or something.

I notice that the pipe 1763650 for the euro 5 post 2011 2.2 engine is less eye watering price at around £40.
Questions
1.Will the 1763650 euro 5 pipe fit??
2.Is there a source of reasonably priced 1744419 pipes??
3.Is there a simple and reliable method of cleaning out the old pipe?? I have very limited resources.

cheers in advance

Have you checked it's not something as simple as a blown inlet hose?

Here's your chance....have at it..!!
I made a similar hose for my turbine powered Go-Kart, and recently for a high pressure fuel line on an Aprillia RSV Mille.... S/S braided hose with -4 S/S fittings and banjo's on each end, cost me the princely sum of ~$60 Aussie sheckles.
