On the alternator as you know is a small metal external fan for extra cooling I assume. Designed to have this for a purpose I assume. But it decided to I didn't want to live there any more and fell off... Not a good sound as driving down th road..
Any ideas how long I can get away with this as I need to drive the van but haven't found a replacement yet.
It is a bit colder at the moment weather wise which helps.

Bloody kangaroos, pain in the ar$e....gazillions of them all over the roads here in rural areas, been hit by cars & trucks, makes a right mess.
I believe the OP has a Mk5 but we may never know...my avitar doesn't give much of a clue to the van I drive..
