Tourneo Custom 2019 - Water Leaks

Postby Family Traveller » Wed Jun 12, 2019 3:37 pm

Hi
I recently purchased a new FORD CUSTOM TOURNEO 2019 170 L1 with all the bells and whistles - i am having water leak into the vehicle on the sliding door at the top, i have had it back to FORD 4 times now and they have no solution to repair this - the door seal has been changed and done all sorts of water test, has anyone else had this problem with their Tourneo ? I suspect it COULD be the roof racks as the vehicle has factory fitted integrated roof racks, i am not sure if this could be the problem .... any advise would help here so that i can pass this onto the dealer to have this repaired.

Could well be the roof rack, I’ve heard of other vans, (not ford specifically) have bother with this due to the way the racks are fitted, missing a bolt, seal or washer when fitted.

Should be easy enough to check :)

Thanks -

I know it sounds simple to find a water leak however FORD is struggling. The next step apparently is to get an Engineer from FORD TECHNICAL to come out and see the problem , he may possible be able to resolve the mystery

Have you removed the roof panels to see if the water is tracking along them from somewhere else?

Hi. I've had leaks on my 13 plate tourneo. My fault. Threads on roof rails weren't sealed properly. By me. Wet front seat belts was the symptom as water found its way down as it does. Also had leak in windscreen seal. Caused electric fault as tracked down pillar to electrics. Ford had a real job finding the issue as symptom was failing electrics on dash. No speedo, wipers etc. Have a new 68 plate tourneo custom which is miles better in every way. A great sized car for family tho.
