Power train symbol

My TDCi,when when am speeding the power train symbol will appear on the dashboard and then the speed will cut unless I put the engine off and then put it on again.what could be the course?

Stored codes need reading - it could be 1, or more, of many things.

Mine did that when I got it, go for too much power and the light came on, turn it off to reset. Turned out to be a wire for the mass air flow sensor that had rubbed through inside the trunking and become intermittent, throwing up a MAF out of range error.

Or it could be a sticky EGR valve, or a boost leak, or the throttle pedal, or the MAP, or the vane ring sticking, etc, etc.

Much easier to plug it in and ask it what is wrong, saves a lot guessing, which saves time and money.

Well that clears everything up now doesn’t it!!

In that case it will definitely be the pipe thats at fault, or the wire the goes from the engine to other bit

But that’s only if it’s a blue one.

White ones Will have a faulty engine sensor.
