MK8 constant DPF issues - any ideas?

Postby minghis » Mon Jun 17, 2019 4:57 pm

My 2016 410 Trend 2.2 mini bus is having the message "Exhaust Filter at Limit Drive to Clean Now" come up.

A month ago it happened and went straight into limp mode, trip to dealer and they were unable to carry out a static regen. They did a PCM software update but then had to change an air charge sensor - this then cleared the problem and road tested all OK. £120 bill.

It happened again just 7 days ago so my driver drove on the motorway for 40 minutes at 3k rpm to try to clear it. The message didn't go so I it went to the local Ford dealer and they did a static regen, cleared fault codes and road tested, all OK and bill for £96.

So 7 days later to today - and the message has come back again "Exhaust Filter at Limit Drive to Clean Now". Called dealer and they said they'd need it back to try to speak to other dealers to see if anyone has any ideas.

It's only just over 3 years old and has done 26,000 miles. It is used for local journeys with at least a weekly longer trip of about an hour each way. Clearly something's not right for it to have this problem on the face of it every week and a bit?

Anyone else have the same problem they've managed to sort? I can't keep it if this is the way its going to be, surely it has to be fixable?

Your request may fall on deaf ears.....he hasn't been back since July of 2019.
