Burning oil

Postby Stiggie1999 » Sun Oct 06, 2019 1:30 pm

Good afternoon all.

I’m sure this has been covered before so apologies.

I’m burning oil, you can see it in the exhaust when you put your foot down, normally at dusk in other cars headlight.

I’ve also oil pooling around my injectors.

Are the two linked?

How hard is it to replace the oil seals.

And lastly is it worth getting the injectors services at the same time.

Thanks

Tim

I can't remember ever having a diesel that didn't do this, it's only diesel soot from the exhaust. If it was burning engine oil, you would see it in daylight :|

Hi all,

Ok so I need to revisit this please, with a few more details.

Its a Mk7 T280 58 plate 2.2 Tdci (I think, happy to be corrected). I don't really know any more.

Seeing white smoke during daylight now if I put my foot down.

I have a few questions.

1. Will it be the oil seals around the injectors? I have oil pooling around the injectors.
2. How hard are they to replace?
3. When its cold I get a really bad tappet noise. As far as I have investigated online, you can't adjust the tappets so what's the repair on this?

Thanks all, any advice would be much appreciated.
