Hello Steve,

Just got round to stripping your old Engine, not so good news, one of the cylinder head valve inserts had fallen out !! this caused quite a bit of damage to the head and piston, This happens and there would have been nothing you could have done about it. Please see the attached photos.
Best Regards,
Peter.

Would be handy to see ATTACHED PHOTO'S :?

It is common for valve & valve seats to fail on LPG engines

14:02 - Gasbo posted
14:10 - Bambi posted (8min gap) - not seconds
14:16 - Gasbo posted (6min gap)

THOSE TIMES ABOVE IS WHEN MY COMPUTER SAYS YOU GUYS POSTED - Do you know why these times are relevant to your post? Technically Gasbo you're the one who doesn't have a life.

Does this post make me a bit lame? Maybe. Christmas is round the corner and it's bloody cold outside. Right now I can't think of anywhere better than sitting indoors in my pyjamas and a cup of tea. Got a couple of things to deal with later on, but that's later.

You've got to chill out man. Honestly no idea how old you are, but if you carry on like this, it's not good for your heart! Stress is the biggest killer.

Also Bambi I think you have forgotten that Gasbo doesn't pay any taxes whatsoever; therefore he probably didn't even know there was a vote!

Change the record gasbo your engine dropped a valve seat yes, would be logical to think that because of the previous existing problems with your engine you yourself had been driving with it overheating and because of the temperature cycling up and down over a period this started the rapid decline in the condition / security of the seats in the head.how long did was the engine revved for? Would need to have been a long long time,he would have needed to have set a brick on the throttle and went for his breakfast dinner an evening meal.

Seat inserts don't 'just drop out', they come loose because either the fit wasn't tight enough, or the seat area of the head grows quicker than the insert.

Revving hard from cold will in fact do just the opposite, the seat insert will expand quicker than the head casting.

Judging by the fact you had a mobile mech looking at it for a otherwise undiagnosed issue, and it then shat itself when he slam tested it, says he was just unfortunate that it dropped out on him. It could just as easily have happened in the fast lane just south of Arse-end-of-nowhere.
