Hill Start assist sticking on

Postby bongo756 » Wed Nov 27, 2019 7:21 pm

I have a Mrk 7 350 Jumbo and now and again the hill start assist is starting to stick on. when it enables and I go to drive away, the green light goes off but the brakes are on solid. sometimes I just put the van into reverse and it came off. but today it stuck on for a minute or so before it released. brakes themselves are pretty new, I.e Discs, pads and callipers. Asked a few mechanics and they just shrugged there shoulders. Any ideas out there?

It comes off with the clutch and brake switches I think so you'll need to check them, also maybe recalibrate the longitudinal sensor.

Get codes read if any.

Hi I have a problem with hill assist as well. It has stopped working several times but I was able to reboot it as per info on this website. This time 'no go'. Any clues what initiates the system?

I am having the same issue. My 2015 Ford Transit 350 XLT is having issues when I am stopped on a hill. If I put the brakes on at a stop sign or light that is on a hill, when I go to take off the brakes stay on, and wont let off, then the hill assist warning comes on and the traction control light. I then have to pull the suction hose out of the big black round brake booster under the hood to release the suction, and I can take off again. I have already changed the brake booster, I have a brand new one installed, and I am still having this issue. Shouldn't the hill start assist release the brakes when I go to take off?

Any help with this would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

I of live data the clutch pedal switch and calibrate the sas and the longitudinal sensors then do a self test on the abs module.

Any other fault codes that might interfere with the system like faulty brake switch/light /wiring or water ingress etc.

Check the looms near and the bcm and pcm I've seen complaints of water running on top of them.
