Engine fire

Hi all just wondering if anyone knows if the new shape transit has ever had problems with engine fires as a friend of mine his van just court fire it’s a 2014 year or could it of been tampered with to cause this to happen I have a video of it but don’t know how to upload it anyone got any advise would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance and stay well

I'm guessing if problems doing the regen it could cause fire

Thanks for the reply ANDZ regen is that the alternater problem the fire was at the front near side at base of engine don’t know if that’s where the alternator is though but yeah that makes me feel better than thinking someone messed about with it

No, Regen is the for the DPF in the exhaust, nothing to do with the alternator.

There is a history of Rangers catching fire due to combustable stuff getting caught up around the DPF shielding. We had a warning notice sent through, but as yet no actual recall as such.
