keep having the spanner warning light

hi there,

I hope some of you guys work for ford and would have the knowledge and help me to get rid of that. My van is a 19reg and is only 17000miles. I started a new job and got this van which had 16500 miles but had the "oil change required" light already. I booked it via our lease company and after a few days, that message annoyed me since it was coming up and hiding my digital speedometer, i reset it in the settings. But another message started to appear, a spanner warming light and a message "Please see manual". I checked in the manual and it is apparently to do with the servicing being due soon. The van then had his oil changed in a non ford garage and the mechanic said he reset the service warning message. I returned twice to that garage but i dont thin they seems to know what they re doing to be fair. Please note that i have no choice of the garage since it is a lease van. It would have made a sense to go to ford. But i quit witht his garage but the light still comes up, never at low speed but only when driving over 60mph and over. The spanner comes up and can feel a small loss of power, not massive but noticeable. As soon as i press ok to erase the message, the van accelerate fine again.

I quit with that garage so please give yourexpertise if any f youknow what that could be. Fords mechanic you are welcome! thanks

As this is a 19 plate and covered by warranty,take it to a dealer,the spanner light may be a sign of an injector issue.

yeah i was thinking something down the line tbh. I think you re right. I am going to insist that the lease company does not send me to a back street garage this time! all my previous vans VW and Renault were always sent to main dealer by lease companies but this one seems to just want to save money.

Service intervals have changed,and it depends on build date,but even the oil change message coming on early is a warranty issue.(if below the required age and mileage for service)

I think people are confused by the ‘service now’ message which can relate to an actual fault.

I've same problem with a few of our 2020 transits just returned from dealer says no faults or codes present light come back on on return journey. P029d and also a c number on abs system.

Hi having same problem it comes on and off we've got a few doing it, 2 that I've looked at 11283 and 11600miles 2020 plate, just returned from dealer said no codes present but when we get our texa on it says p029d and p02a1,. Also lists an abs fault with a c number never photoed that one to mind code. Any help when this is solved would be much appreciated.

Check the oil level.

It may also be the 'oil quality' sensor needs cleaning.

Service mileage is irrelevant these days, it more depends on the type of driving, short journeys round town will ask to be serviced at 4 or 5K due to oil contamination, lots of long M'way miles will go the full mileage happily - though I wouldn't trust Ford as they want max miles between services to look good in the sales brochure.
