Mk7 Transit Remote Central Locking not Working

Postby Wanyer » Sun Jun 14, 2020 3:55 pm

Hi There,

New to the forum as I have just purchased as 2011 Mk7 Transit SWB 85. The van did not come with the remote locking Blue key just the plain black one with the blue chip, I have now purchased a new Blue key from Ebay with the internals etc and had this cut and programmed by a local specialist in Bristol and the key will unlock the the doors manually and start the vehicle but will not unlock/lock the doors using the remote aspect. We tried another blue key from a friends van which we reprogrammed with all the correct equipment but still will not unlock/lock the doors. the key is transmitting as the electrician can see this on his Autel machine. Can anyone please shed some light to what this fault might be and why the key will not work the remote locking. The central locking works fine when you insert the key into the lock on the drivers door and work it manually. Thanks in advance.

You might need to locate the RCL receiver, and see if the LED is flashing when you press a fob button

It's in the roof, above the headlining, in the area of the front cab courtesy light. You might be able to see or feel it if you remove the light :)

Thanks for the info, I have located the module. The light does not flash when you press the button, but does flash when you turn the ignition on/off.

Thanks

Ah...so the receiver is not seeing the fob then..!? How many units are programmed into the system..?? I think there's a limit to the amount of fob ID's you can have in the system. Maybe delete them all and start again.

Hi There,

Spoke with the guy that programmed the key and he mentioned he did clear the system and started fresh, with no luck. Do you think it could be a faulty receiver maybe??

Hello,
We have a mk7 transit van.
We recently took our key fob to Timpsons and they fitted a new battery.
The central locking worked for a few weeks after this but has since stopped working.
How do we find out if the auxiliary battery is flat please?
I can see central locking and key fobs are a common problem.
We just don’t know whether to replace the auxiliary battery or not?
Best wishes,
Alice and Andy
