Postby reallyoldian » Fri Aug 14, 2020 9:44 am

I hope someone can help advise as my mechanic cannot :?: I have a mk7 2.4 tdci which normally runs like a dream. no smoke starts great etc ,lately its been losing power after about 20 miles its like there is no turbo most noticeable going up hills ,turn it off then start it runs great for 20 ish miles then same again , changed fuel filter and air filter ( wishful thinking ) no difference ,Mechanic put it on his computer thingy no codes ! ,Any advice would be greately appreciated or if anyone knows a good transit mechanic near Durham ! :D

Any DTC lights on the dash..?? Do you know what code reader was used..?? Some readers struggle with the Transit protocols.

I'm guessing the EGR valve is not happy.

It could be also the venting hole on the fuel filler cap blocked and creates a vacum in the fuel tank .

There's two types, go for this one..:

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/EGR-Valve-f ... ect=mobile

There is also a water cooled and non-water cooled....check to see which you have before buying.
