What’s this hose for? Ford transit motorhome 56 plate

Postby earthTree » Mon Aug 31, 2020 6:34 pm

I’m experiencing a loss of power and a whining whistling noises at higher revs.

I found this tube in the location where the whine is coming from. The tube has quite strong suction and I’m wondering should it be attached somewhere.

I thought on here, it kind of fits but the hose diameter and length seem too small.

The loss of power could be due to the air filter but there is only 30,000 miles on the clock

According to the photo, this is the Mk6 2.0 tdci. :?:
I am attaching a link where you have a description of vacu hoses. That should be enough for you to properly connect vacu hoses.

Regardless of your problem - have you blinded EGR? Of all Fords with Duratorq Puma engine, only Transits Mk6 2.0 / 2.4 tdci have EGR without position sensor. Therefore, to plug the EGR, it is enough to disconnect the vacu hose from its actuator. EGR will now be permanently closed. The disconnected vacu hose should be closed, it cannot suck an air. Two minutes of work and no EGR problem.
