2011 Transit Remote central locking.

Postby Silverfox56 » Sun Jan 10, 2021 1:41 pm

Key fob not working at all.
Key fob is putting a signal out, believe he said 40khz on every fob button, key chap tested that.
Battery in key fob good & charging.
No remote sensor pick up in headlining/no wiring, could it be anywhere else?.
Aux battery charged under seat.
So somewhere the vans not responding, anyone got any clues where too look next.

Other info, looks like it's got a scorpion system ECU SA40, no other info or manual. Also a masternault thing on the dash, assume it was a tracker.

Check you van has RCL from factory.
Put your vin into 7zap website to check if it was fitted.
You can find the vin if you don't have it by putting your reg in here https://www.etis.ford.com/

Receiver should be velcro'd to the panel above the head lining near, but not necessarily right next to, front interior light.

There are 3wires going to the receiver
GY-BU signal
YE-RD power from fuse F74 -5amp
BK-WH ground

Sorted, couldn't find the sensor for receiving key fob signal.
Cold weather & the starter battery failed so today i changed both batteries, starter & auxiliary, once reconnected everything worked, key fob the lot, even the scorpion alarm that's been fitted.
Would like to thank Alpha Batteries for their very good service, price & next day delivery. Paid 187.50 for 2 x 90ah 720amp cranking, original were don't laugh, dated 2011 so they were originals & only 60ah.
While doing this I also transferred the leisure battery 115ah from the motorhome (01 ducato) to a split charge relay & 80w solar panel system I've fitted in the work van solar feeds cab battery & leisure.
Upgraded the moho battery to 120ah. The reason I've told you this is on the moho I fitted de-sulphators to bother cab & hab/leisure batteries, at £20 they're a worthwhile investment & appear to be extending battery lifespan considerably. Will now get 3 for the work transit.
Cheers for your help.
