Losing power

P0490 and p0404 losing power over 2000 revs clear codes drives like a new van. Till it happens again any ideas guys garage just want to put new egr in and his words are MIGHT FIX MIGHT NOT. Some clowns around here oh and that cost €50 to tell me that

Ha its a 2007 Ford transit connect tdci.. While I was having a look around it realised iv been driving a van for 5 years with egr blanking plate on it...

I suspect the garage may be correct that its the EGR valve at fault though - although its definitely worth doing a visual inspection of the vacuum pipes etc

I also noticed egr blanking plate on it must be on there over 5 years because I never put it on... Also the actuator connected to the side of egr should that move when I start engine it's does nothing.
