Disable Fuel Pump, Side Effects?

Postby AuldNick » Sat Feb 13, 2021 12:17 pm

Hi all.
I am thinking of disabling the fuel pump on my 2015 Custom as part of the vehicle security.
Would it cause any issues to the engine or injectors if someone tried to start the engine with the fuel pump not operational?

I hear that running out of diesel can be bad...

Cheers :)

Probably not a good idea to disable it by shutting off the fuel supply, I would be inclined to disable it electrically (you can probably just pull out the fuel pump relay from the junction/fuse box)

Hi, yes, that is what I intended. Sorry, I should have said.
If the relay was removed, would it cause any issues if someone tried to start the van, do you think?
Cheers.

If you don’t forget yourself to put it back in you should never have a problem you’re bigger problem will be if someone does nick it if you don’t.
